Welcome to the website of Karen Kirkland - Composer, Performer, Teacher and Education Consultant. Karen Kirkland is a professional musician, composer and teacher. Educated in Shropshire, Karen went on to study music at Cardiff University. She continued her post graduate studies at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Birmingham University. Karen worked for several years as a secondary school music teacher before joining Shropshire Music Service. Karen is now a Lead Teacher working as part of
the management team.
Karen composes original music, for herself, other artists, teachers, choirs, music education projects and commercial business projects. Her original compositions cover a wide range of musical genres from commercial pop, commercial advertising, music educational resources for teachers, CPD projects, singing resources, choral works for choirs, to classical settings of war poetry for brass band and four part SATB choir.
